FAQ

  • How can I contact goodfur?
Email us at grooming@goodfurspa.com or send us a DM on Instagram @goodfurgrooming 💖
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Please provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failure to do so will result in a charge for the full cost of the scheduled grooming service. In the event of a no call/no show, you will be charged the full amount of the appointment. This policy is in place to respect the time allocated for your pet's grooming session. If you cancel on the day of your appointment, you will also be charged the full amount of the service. We allocate specific time slots for each grooming session, and same-day cancellations prevent us from serving other clients. Arriving late may limit the time available for your pet's grooming, resulting in partial services being offered. Please note that arrivals more than 30 minutes late will be considered as a cancellation, and the appointment will be charged in full.

  • What is included in a Bath & Tidy?
Pamper your dog with our exceptional bathing service. The process starts with a soft, thorough brushing to eliminate loose hair and untangle their coat. We then lavish them with a bath using select iGroom products, chosen specifically for their unique coat and skin requirements. After the bath, your pup is cozily wrapped in a warm, fluffy towel and then gently blow-dried to achieve that delightful post-spa fluff. The pampering continues with the necessary brushing or deshedding, coupled with meticulous ear cleaning and nail trimming. Optional additional trimming around the feet, paws, and face is also available, tailored to those dogs who need or would benefit from it. This complete bathing experience ensures your dog not only looks great but feels refreshed and cared for.
  • Does my short-coated dog need grooming?
Even short-coated dogs benefit greatly from regular grooming sessions. While they may not require haircuts, grooming is essential for maintaining their overall health and cleanliness. Our grooming service for short-coated breeds focuses on more than just appearance. It includes a thorough brushing to remove loose fur, followed by a deep, refreshing bath with products tailored to their specific coat and skin needs helps to keep their coat sleek and healthy. Ear cleaning and nail trimming are also part of the routine, ensuring that every aspect of your dog's well-being is cared for. This kind of consistent grooming is key in keeping your short-coated dog looking neat, feeling comfortable, and staying healthy.
  • Do you offer walk in nail trims?
Yes we do! You can request to book one here.
  • Can I stay with my dog during the appointment?
Absolutely, you are welcome to stay close to your dog during their grooming session. We have a comfortable waiting area available for clients to relax just outside the grooming salon. This allows you to be nearby while your pet is being pampered. If you feel your presence in the grooming salon would benefit your dog or make them feel more comfortable, you are welcome to be present. However, it's important to note that some dogs can become overly excited or distracted with their owner in the same room. In such cases, we may suggest that you return to the waiting area. To determine what will work best for your pup, we encourage you to inquire further and discuss your dog’s specific needs and temperament with us. This tailored approach helps ensure that your dog receives the best possible care and attention during their grooming session, in an environment that is calm and conducive to a positive experience.
  • Does my dog need vaccines to get groomed?
Yes, for the safety of all our furry clients, we do require that your dog is vaccinated before being groomed at our facility. While we strongly recommend keeping all vaccinations up to date for your dog's overall health and well-being, the only legal requirement we have is a current rabies vaccination. Proof of this vaccination must be provided prior to any grooming services being rendered. This policy helps us ensure a safe and healthy environment for every pet in our care.
  • Do you groom reactive or anxious dogs?
Yes, we do groom reactive or anxious dogs. It's important for us to understand their specific challenges with the grooming process to tailor our approach. Options include starting with brief, gentle visits to gradually familiarize them with grooming, splitting the service into shorter sessions over a few days to minimize stress, or having the owner present if it comforts the dog. Our aim is to ensure a fear-free, stress-reducing experience, catering to each dog's unique needs for a positive grooming outcome.
  • How does your pricing work?
Our pricing at Goodfur Grooming Spa is uniquely tailored to each pet, reflecting the time and attention dedicated to their specific needs. We charge $75 per hour, focusing on the individual requirements of your dog rather than a standard list of services. This approach allows us to accommodate the unique differences in each dog, including variations in coat, temperament, and specific grooming needs. To provide a more accurate estimate, we consider factors such as your dog's coat type, behavioral traits, and grooming requirements. Gathering this information helps us offer a closer estimate that truly captures the personalized care and attention your pet will receive.
  • How will I know what my exact price will be?
To determine the most accurate price for your dog's grooming session at Goodfur Grooming Spa, we consider several key factors about your pet. A more precise estimate can be provided once we understand your dog's coat condition, behavior, and specific grooming needs. The frequency of your dog's past grooming sessions plays a significant role in how much time the grooming might take. While we cannot guarantee an exact duration or cost upfront, we strive to give you as close an estimate as possible.
  • My dog doesn't like grooming, can I still book them a grooming appointment?
    Yes
  • How early should I bring my puppy in?
We advise introducing your puppy to grooming as early as possible, ideally right after they receive their Rabies and Parvo vaccine, which is typically around 3-4 months old. Starting early is key. We suggest bringing your puppy in for a bath and tidy every 2-3 weeks during their first 6 months. This frequent grooming not only helps in training and acclimating your dog to the grooming process but also provides valuable socialization opportunities. These regular sessions are essential for setting the foundation for a lifetime of positive grooming experiences."
  • Will my puppy get a full haircut for their first visit?
Certainly, we understand the desire for a full haircut for your puppy. However, we prioritize their comfort and readiness above all. The primary aim of the first few grooming sessions is to successfully complete a bath, blow dry or blow dry training, nail trimming, and brushing. Additionally, if the puppy is comfortable and it's necessary for their breed, we may do some light trimming around the feet, face, and sanitary areas. These initial goals are focused on ensuring the puppy becomes comfortable with the basic elements of grooming. Some puppies might adapt quickly, while others may need more time and patience. We are committed to ensuring that full haircuts are performed only when your puppy is completely ready for it, both in terms of comfort and behavior. This patient, tailored approach helps ensure a positive experience and sets the foundation for future grooming success.
  • When can they get a full haircut?
Every puppy is unique and may learn and get comfortable at different rates. This means the number of sessions required before they are ready for a full haircut (for breeds that need haircuts) can vary. Some puppies might adapt quickly, while others may need more time and patience. We are committed to ensuring that full haircuts are performed only when your puppy is completely ready for it, both in terms of comfort and behavior. By acknowledging and catering to these aspects of puppy grooming training, we can create a positive and enjoyable grooming experience for your puppy, setting them up for a lifetime of successful grooming sessions.
